A society called the Saudi Society for Liver Diseases and Transplantation, incorporated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the approval of the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialities No. 29/1/7 dated 10/2/1429 H, with its headquarters in Riyadh, and may establish branches in other regions of the Kingdom as required.
Internal Regulations of the Saudi Society for Liver Diseases and Transplantation: The Board of Directors shall meet regularly every 2 months corresponding to the first Thursday of January, March, July, September and November.
The quorum for the Executive Board is more than four members for it to be legal and for decisions to be valid. Decisions are taken unanimously or by majority vote.
The head of each committee or interest group should present a progress report on their committee group at the beginning of each meeting.
The first term of office of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Liver Diseases and Transplantation, elected at the first General Assembly held on 30 August 2008 and attended by the SCHS Vice Secretary General and other members, is as follows:

1. 15 Sept 08: Discussed the first GA meeting and election results and welcomed SCHS approval of the meeting and election process.
-Discussion of logo design proposals
- Approved the English name and its abbreviation as SASLT in line with international trends.
2. 09 Oct 08: Approval of the logo
- Approval of website content
- Unanimously agreed to cooperate with the SGA in all aspects and authorised the President to communicate with the SGA.
3. 01 Jan 09: Discussed a proposal for a 3 year plan and agreed to call a strategic planning meeting with one of the experts instead.
- Approved the proposed Interest Groups and Management Committees and await website activation.
- Discussed the development of a national liver disease database and the best approach to implementation.
- Approved the principle of an annual scientific meeting and biennial regional scientific meetings and agreed the dates.
4. 04 Mar 09: Discussed collaboration plans with health authorities and approved a request for a meeting with the Minister of Health.
- Discuss collaboration with pharmaceutical companies and means to improve this relationship
- Approve progress report on website design
5. 06 May 09: Discussed the President and Treasurer's visit to Deputy Minister Dr Mansour Al Hawasi and the great opportunities ahead.
- Agreed with Dr Stephanie Waltson to implement the strategic plan for SASLT towards the end of June.
- Emphasised the need to recruit staff to carry out the work of SASLT.
6. 25 June 09: Dedicated to the Strategic Plan meeting attended by all EB members together with the SGA President.
