Dr. Hamad AlAshgar

Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist

Dr. Hamad AlAshgar is an accomplished consultant in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology who has been working at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH & RC), Riyadh, KSA for more than three (3) decades. His extensive training and experience since his residency years in various countries specialising in Gastroenterology / Hepatology has contributed much to the great qualifications and achievements he is living today. Licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) in Gastroenterology. He achieved double board in Internal Medicine. He completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at KFSH & RC and University of Toronto, Canada respectively.He participates in various committees and organisations in and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has received numerous awards in research and publications, including oral presentations, since 1998. Currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, KFSH & RC for 10 years with deep understanding of the challenges and dynamics of the department and were able to lead in a strategic and efficient manner. Dr AlAshgar is also fond of research projects and has already published more than 70 publications, around 40 meeting abstracts and more than 20 accepted researches in KFSH & RC. His influence and clinical and procedural skills will be passed on to our junior doctors in this new generation and will continue to provide excellent patient care and experience for the betterment of our society.
